I am a huge fan of Leo at Zen Habits. His blog is about simplifying life and along the way he covers everything from finance to work out strategies. He has over 26,000 subscribers who read his blog daily.
Over the past few weeks, I have been studying his ebook, Zen To Done. This ebook is a compilation of many of his posts on Zen Habits. He has taken David Allen’s Get Things Done and simplified the hell out of it and along the way made it much more workable.
In Zen to Done, Leo focuses on simplifying your life, one habit at a time so that you are more productive. Leo says:
“Why “Zen To Done”? Well, first off, the blog is called Zen Habits, and “Habits To Done” doesn’t sound cool enough to me. I also thought of “Simple To Done” but the acronym didn’t seem right. Second, ZTD captures the essential spirit of the new system: that of simplicity, of a focus on doing, in the here and now, instead of on planning and on the system.”
I bought the eBook for two reasons. It costs under $10 and because Leo offers the same information free on his blog. Yup, you can get the same information free but you will spend days working your way through all of the posts to do it. My time is valuable and I spend too much time online already. The ebook is quicker and more organized. You can read it at lunch in the park or while your kids are playing at McDonalds.
Ok, maybe 3 reasons… I needed help getting my life back under control.
