Despite the fact that I put in a ticket as soon as I realized that it was down, Affordable Multimedia (AFMU.Com) did not respond until after lunch time today. My account was down for over 24 hours because it caused “high load on their server.” They have no telephone support so I was at the mercy of their whims as to when they would choose to respond.
I’m not exactly sure what that means but I have been advised that if it continues, the account will be suspended again so I am searching for new and more reliable webhost. The true test of any webhosting company is how they respond when something goes wrong. Not having anyway to contact them but email and having no response within a few minutes in a situation like this is not acceptable.
If you can recommend a webhost, please leave me a comment. I will be leaving AFMU as quickly as I can find one that can handle a bit of traffic and a “high load on their server” as well as offering telephone support if needed.

Glad to see you are back online. I’m considering GoDaddy.com, but I don’t have any experience with them. My only website hosting experience is using real estate web hosts. They are responsive, but expensive.
My blogs are hosted with BlueHost and I’ve had no problems with them. Their phone support is really good too!
I have Bluehost as well and whenever I have a problem (usually my fault as I am not completely tech savvie) they are excellent at helping me out quickly and getting me on my way. It only costs $6.95 a month for an unlimited amount of sites. AND I can buy my domains through them for $10 (same as name cheap) and keep my name/personal stuff out of the public eye. Very cool.
