This sounds like a very discouraging situation. Personally I would be pretty pissed off at the ex, even if she is legally owed this much money. Sometimes an ex needs to have some compassion instead of trying to claw away anything they can.

I’m really sorry to hear about that. I would definitely consider consulting attorneys like what they have mentioned above and taking action because that does sound quite unfair of the court. Please continue to update us on what happens and stay strong !

Hi A, The pro bono attorney’s in our area are available through legal aid. They will not take any new cases currently and won’t take a spousal support case anyway. The only other option would be a court appointed attorney. These are not available for spousal support either even though any other crime would qualify. If he killed her the state would pay for his attorney but they won’t pay to straighten out this travesty.
